Windwehen Home
Carl Victor Windwehen moved to New Braunfels with his mother and young daughter after his wife, Charlotte (stocker), had died. He was the only dentist listed in the city's 1906 telephone directory. Dr. Windwehen married Lina Coreth in 1910, and the family moved into this house, a wedding gift to his new bride. Carl died in 1946, and Lina lived here until her death in 1975.

Wurstfest
An annual 'salute to sausage' celebration, Wurstfest is held every fall on the Wurstfest grounds adjacent to Landa Park. The notion of a sausage festival was conceived in 1961 by Dr. E. A. Grist, veterinarian and city meat inspector in New Braunfels. At the time, New Braunfels had nineteen commercial sausage-making businesses in the city.

Zions Kirche
Organized 1871, with 52 German members, by the Rev. William Felsing, itinerant minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Building was erected 1872 of native limestone; enlarged 1893; had brick façade and bell tower added, 1913. Still in congregation are heirs of founders of this church. (1972)
