The rodeo arena on US 281 on the south side of Marble Falls is the home of the Marble Falls Rodeo, held on the third weekend of July, and it carries the name of Charley Taylor, who helped found the rodeo association in 1957. Charley Taylor was its first president, with Jack Rogers and Bobby Burnam, and by the association's own account more than two thousand people came to the first show. The arena then stood on railroad land near Avenue N in town. In 1974 the railroad sold the land and gave the association sixty days to leave, and by the association's own account the deadline was made with minutes to spare, the last gate at the new site still being welded in place as the first contestant came out of the chutes.
To make the move the rodeo men merged with the Marble Falls Stockyard Association, formed in 1931, and set up on land on US 281 leased from Mrs. Roper, which they bought outright in 1991. The association became a nonprofit in 1988. It is a working rodeo, with bronc and bull riding, steer wrestling, roping and barrel racing, and results reported in the local paper every summer. A saddle bronc rider scored eighty eight points to win in 2026.
