The Giant Fork
A polished stainless steel fork 35 feet tall stands tines up in the parking lot of an office building on West Chesterfield Boulevard in southwest Springfield, Missouri. Its weight is usually given as 11 tons, though some accounts halve that, and no engineering figure settles it. It was built in the late 1990s for the Greenhouse Market, a short lived restaurant on South Glenstone Avenue owned by Bob Noble of the Springfield advertising firm Noble and Associates.
