The Bloody Angle
A sharp double bend in the old Battle Road where the retreating British column was caught from both sides on April 19th, 1775. The road turns twice in quick succession here, and colonial militia used the cover on either side to fire into the flank of the column as it slowed to make the corners. It was among the deadliest stretches of the entire retreat from Concord back to Boston.

Meriam's Corner
The junction where the running fight of April 19th, 1775 really began. British troops withdrawing from Concord's North Bridge had to cross a narrow bridge over Mill Brook here, and militia companies arriving from surrounding towns opened fire as they did. From this corner east, the orderly retreat became a sixteen-mile gauntlet.

Paul Revere Capture Site
The stretch of road where Paul Revere's midnight ride ended — not in triumph, but in capture by a British patrol. Revere was riding toward Concord with William Dawes and Samuel Prescott when the patrol stopped them. Prescott jumped a wall and carried the warning the rest of the way; Dawes escaped on foot; Revere was held, questioned, and eventually released without his horse.
